In 1913 Cyrus Gray was a well-respected conductor in Mentor, Ohio. His wife, Victoria Gray, was considered the mother of the rail line. Often she would be found at the depot talking to the travelers and giving them homemade muffins while they waited to set off on their journey. It was well known that the conductor and his family very often opened their homes to fellow conductors and welcomed all those in need. Even after they had their daughter, Alexandria, the Gray couple continued their hospitality. Even the household help felt they were part of the family. Cyrus loved his wife and daughter with all of his being and was devastated when Victoria started to lose her mind. One moment she would be just like herself and then instantly slip into madness with ramblings of a man named Ahriman. At first Cyrus thought that this was someone that his wife met at the depot but there was no one that traveled through with that name.

Often Cyrus would be called away to make month long journeys and would fear leaving his wife and child. But the household help and neighbors always helped the family that helped them. Late one night as Cyrus was on the final track home, he suddenly got a strange feeling, knowing something was wrong at home. With the engine still hot on the tracks, he raced home, only to walk through his front door and find his beloved family dead.

For weeks Cyrus locked himself in his home and even had his resignation prepared, ready to give up his love of the rail. He was devastated and at the end of his ropes. That was until he found Victoria's diary and learned that there was so much more to his families death then he first thought. Within the pages was hidden the story of a tortured woman. A woman who loved her husband and family in her heart but at the same time could not stop thinking about a demon named Ahriman. Ahriman talked to her relentlessly as she slept, not even leaving her alone when she was awake. He wanted Victoria and Alexandria for his own and would stop at nothing to get them.

The diary read of how Ahriman had finally convinced Victoria to take her own life as well as her daughters. It told of her plan to lace that days milk bottle with arsenic. The same milk that was used for the babies nighttime bottles and Victoria's evening “nightcap”. What she didn't think about was how every morning the cook woke early made muffins for the whole house staff to partake before the chores began. The cook used the rest of the arsenic laced milk and the whole staff was poisoned and dead within the day.

Once Cyrus figured this out he decided that he needed to get his family back in any way he could. He sought out the local vagabond, known for her witchcraft, and she aided him in contacting Ahriman . Both men were fierce in their need for the woman and child, but Cyrus was able to strike a deal. In exchange for the spirits of his wife, child and loving household members, Cyrus would continue running the rail and transport 2000 passengers into Ahriman's lair every night so that he would have an endless supply of souls to choose from. Enter at your own risk and hope that your soul is not one that Ahriman wants to keep for his own amusement.
